NJYT Students were recently treated to NJYT Alumni Okieriete “Oak” Onaodowan teaching his Master Class, “Acting Through Song”. Okieriete Onaodowan is just one of the many NJYT Alumni who have gone on to greater things!
Fresh off of playing James Madison in Broadway’s “Hamilton” and now replacing Josh Groban as Pierre in “Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1912,” NJYT Alumni Okieriete Onaodowan shared his experiences on Broadway with students as he taught them how to act through the medium of song on stage.
By all accounts the class was a resounding success and was even attended by State Senator Thomas Kean, Jr. who said the class was fantastic and that he was very impressed by the training offered by New Jersey Youth Theatre.
All proceeds from Mr. Onaodowan’s Master Classes will benefit NJYT’s free summer program that has been free-of-charge to participants for the past 25 years.
Thanks again to Oak and everyone who attended!
