Classes
New Jersey Youth Theatre offers a School for the Performing Arts to young artists who seriously want to learn their craft. Launched in 1992, the school provides professional classes in acting, dance, musical theatre and voice for students (ages 8 -18). The classes run from October through mid-May each year at NJYT's studios located at 172 W. Westfield Avenue in Roselle Park, NJ. For specific class information, simply access the subordinate menu under Classes or feel free to download class information via the file attachments below.
New Jersey Youth Theatre’s programs also extend to underserved youth with limited access to professional performing arts training. New Jersey Youth Theatre's veteran theatre professionals offer several free workshops each year in "audition protocol and technique" at public schools in various communities across the state.
New Jersey Youth Theatre's outreach activities have also included Dance Residency Programs at alternative high schools for at-risk, inner-city children. Initiated in 2001, several of these residencies became part of the core curriculum at these schools. To inquire about our residency programs, please call 908-233-3200.
